From the family that created The Men of The Pacific Street Social Club Cookbook, Uncle Bacala's, and Attilio's Pizzeria, comes the latest chapter in our story. It’s a love letter to the old-school Brooklyn-style pizza joints of the past.
Introducing The Pacific Street Pizza Company!
Food and family. It might be a cliché to say that Italian families center their hearts and souls around food. But it’s so true.
Our great-grandparents came to this country from Southern Italy at the beginning of the 20th century, settling in the Italian enclave of the East New York section of Brooklyn. They brought with them their love of Italy, of family, and of food. The food didn’t need to be complex or fancy. But it was always delicious.
In 1939, they achieved their American dream, opening Pep's Bar & Grill (named after our great-grandfather Giuseppe) a family-style restaurant and bar, that served the family and friends of their neighborhood throughout the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, only closing its doors in the early 1970s.
Through those years, every meal was a heartwarming almost religious experience for them, and it’s still that way now for all of us.
And now for you as well. Old-school style!
